I am delighted to learn of your candidacy for the congressional 3rd district seat from the state of Kansas. As a military mom, I am concerned about our military. What is your stance on supporting our military in funding and additional troops?

After 9-11, Americans vowed that we would--

Patricia's Answer:
Thanks so much for your note. I have met many military families throughout the district and they have asked me the same question you have regarding my commitment to the troops, both in terms of funding as well as additional troops, when needed.

As I wrote in this column on September 1, I believe we must be committed to winning on the War on Terror, wherever that may lead us. We must always pay close attention to the requests of generals, and respond quickly when they ask for additonal resources on the battlefied.

As a Member of Congress, I would be a strong advocate for the military. As we debate issues like health care and spending, we cannot forget the war we continue to fight overseas and the importance of continuing our vigilance in defeating those who seek to destroy us.
