Olathe , Kan - Former State Rep. Patricia Lightner, Republican candidate for Congress in the 3rd District of Kansas, issued the following statement urging the Kansas House to pass the Kansas Health Care Freedom Amendment.
"I strongly urge the Kansas House of Representatives to pass the Kansas Health Care Freedom Amendment. Those legislators who voted no on the first vote should switch their votes on a motion to reconsider. ObamaCare is an unconstitutional mandate upon individuals, and the Kansas Health Care Freedom Amendment would protect the liberty and freedom of Kansans. This should be foremost on the minds of my former colleagues," said Lightner.
Lightner, a former three-term State Representative who chaired the House Insurance Committee in 2003 and 2004, originally announced her support for the Kansas Health Care Freedom Amendment in November and has signed the petition at www.kansashealthcarefreedom.com. She urged her followers - and all Kansans -- to contact wavering legislators and hold those who vote no accountable at the ballot box.
"The will of the people needs to be heard loud and clear - both now and in upcoming elections," said Lightner.
