Patricia Lightner Endorses Kevin Yoder for Congress

Olathe, Kan. – State Rep. Patricia Lightner, runner-up in the August 3 Republican primary, today announced her endorsement of Republican nominee Kevin Yoder in the race for Congress in the 3rd District of Kansas.

In doing so, she issued the following statement:

"Last night, Kevin and I met and had a great conversation about the need to ensure we win the 3rd District in November. A year ago, I entered this race to take on Dennis Moore and return this seat to someone who will uphold the principles of limited government, economic freedom, and individual liberty. That goal has not changed, and I know we have that candidate in Kevin Yoder. While we had our differences in the primary, I know Kevin will uphold the same values of limited government, economic freedom, and individual liberty that I campaigned on and trust that he will stand up against Pelosi in Washington. Now is the time to focus on the general election and defeating Stephene Moore and her radical agenda.

Let’s be clear – there is too much at stake this election to sit on the sidelines, and there are important choices before us this November. On one side, you have the Democrats, who want more spending, bigger government, and higher taxes. On the other side, you have the Republicans, who want less spending, smaller government, and lower taxes. In this battle for the economic future of our country, there is only one choice for Congress this fall and that is Kevin Yoder.”

Kevin Yoder thanked Lightner for her endorsement and acknowledged her strong showing in the Republican primary as well as her voice for conservative principles.

“Patricia Lightner earned over 26,000 votes on August 3, including carrying the cities of Olathe and Gardner,” said Yoder. “Not only did she prove to be a formidable challenger, she is a principled conservative leader who won the respect of many with her strong voice against deficit spending, government bailouts, and ObamaCare.”

“I am honored by Patricia's endorsement today, and look forward to earning the support of those who voted for her. As Patricia said, there is much at stake this election cycle, and Stephene Moore is on the wrong side of every major issue facing our country. I am honored to have Patricia’s support as we fight to return the 3rd District to Republican hands.”
